Barry, I cannot tell you how happy we are that Sharaud referred us to you. Josh is now a Straight A student in advanced classes. I don't know what kind of magic you've worked but he walked into Math Camp at Wired Minds last August convinced he could not do math, and he came out the same day saying "I get it". I don't know how you restored his confidence. But he moved from 5th grade math last year to a quarter of 6th grade math before we moved. At his new school, he had the confidence to go straight into 7th grade math - and he joined the class a quarter into school. He's now making all A's. I know some of the credit goes to his teachers at Seneca Middle, but a lot of the credit goes to Wired Minds Tutoring. I cannot tell you the difference in my son. Thank you! I can't express to you how much you have made a difference in Blair's math grade, she has went from making an "F" to making all "A's" and "B's" on her test. AMAZING! I have seen my daughter understand, retain and successfully apply math concepts for about 4 weeks now! Sarah had been struggling to keep up in Algebra 2H. She has always been a strong student and over the course of the first semester became frustrated and disappointed with her lack of understanding and ability to apply what little she did comprehend. When the first semster grades came out, I realized it was time to get Sarah a tutor. I walked into Wired Minds and spoke with Barry. I immediately knew Sarah was going to come away successful. I wanted to thank you for being proactive in helping Hollie in the eleventh hour of her school year. You could have said that it is too late. Hollie passed by the skin of her teeth with a final grade of 70 in Language Arts and 71 in Social Studies. In fact, I got a call today saying that she needed to take both of those courses in both sessions of summer school to get promoted to the 9th grade. I questioned it, and the lady went back and checked and saw that she had passed. I guess the school administration had written her off too.

It's one thing to be compensated, but another to be appreciated, and I do appreciate it.

Hey Barry,

This is what I wrote for the paper!

Jacob Cohn, 8 and in the second grade at Brushy Creek Elementary School is amazing (and I am not only saying that because he is my son). He is wise beyond his years; however, he does have some learning differences and some issues about liking school or feeling “not smart enough”. He is respectful of others and is a very loyal friend, even to the point that when one hurts him. Academically he has already improved significantly in reading and is a pro at spelling. Our latest issue has been math and raising his confidence and reigniting his love of learning and school along with fueling an interest in reading for fun.

Barry Horst of Wired Minds is incredible. Wired Minds is the needed difference between formal and informal education. Youth have enough pressure from school and testing, homework and grades that the last thing they need is more “school”. Jacob actually loves going to study with Christina, his instructor, each week. His improvements in school both academically and emotionally are the proof. I was beaming when he brought home a week of tests where all but one were an A or even 100. Barry gave him a high five and he really knows how to talk to the kids at their level, but never down to them.

Today Jacob wants to be a fire fighter – scary for me, but a needed and admirable choice that would make us proud.

Dear Barry,

I just wanted to thank you so much for helping me in my preparations for the SAT. With your help and encouragement, I knew I would be able to succeed in not only my math, but everything I do. Seeing you once a week has helped me increase my score by 80 points to reach my goal. To get my results and see my score made me feel so proud of myself. I am so lucky for having the opportunity to be tutored by you. I hope you and Erin are doing great in your new adventure in life. You two are the nicest people I know.

We are so proud of our daughter! Ashley had been carrying a D in Algebra for almost the entire school year. We enrolled her in Wired Minds and can not believe her progress! She has since brought home grades of a 99 and a 102! Not only has she raised her overall grade to a high C, but her confidence is back as well! We are confident she will have a B by the end of the year! We are so proud of her!

Blair had been struggling in math. Her confidence was gone, and she had basically given up on even trying. I enrolled Blair in Wired Minds Tutoring. She went from making "F’s" to making "A's" & "B's". She has seen that she has the ability to do anything. She has confidence now not only in math, but really in all she is doing!

James’ school grades have dramatically increased! James only started with you guys in November but his enthusiasm for learning and doing well in school is amazing! We're so proud of him!
