BARRY HORST - Center Director / Master - Math - SAT prep, ACT prep, Elem. Ed., Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry
I graduated with an elementary education degree from Calvin College. I have taught in New Mexico, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
I taught in Philadelphia for four years and was the only teacher at my school who never received a negative parental complaint
I tutor math. In fact I love math; I think it's fun! My wife has even caught me reading a math textbook just for fun!
I have tutored students of all ages--7 to 20-year-olds--I still hear from many of them.
I have worked out with Philadelphia's soccer team, the Kixx; Philadelphia's arena football team, the Soul; and the mascot for the 76ers - his name is Bill. We used to go to the same church before I moved to SC.
I love the outdoors, and adventure sports. In fact I once fell 30+ feet while rock climbing and not only survived, but got up to climb again.

ANNA - Master - Special Ed - ELA - Reading Comprehension, Early Reading, Learning to Read, Writing, and Early Math
I specialize in working with students who have learning disabilities, such as ADD, Autism, and Dyslexia.
I am also quite good at helping students read their first word, simple math and writing. I have a lot of patience and bring new ideas and strategies to help students with unique learning styles see learning in their own individual way.
I graduated from Bob Jones University in 2006 with a degree in Special Education specializing in Learning Disabilities.
I teach some of the most wonderful students at Gateway Elementary and have done so for 3 years!
During my summers I work at an autistic school in Delaware. I just finished my sixth year there!
I am learning to surf! In fact I was so skilled that the very first time I caught a wave, I ended up with a black eye!
I love to teach elementary aged students! Just one of the many reasons I love of this age is because they are the only ones with whom I can truly see eye to eye! (I'm kinda short) :)

I am fortunate to have a job that I love! I currently teach second grade where I daily strive to make learning enjoyable and applicable to my students' lives.
I love reading, writing, spending time outside on the lake, hiking, or cooking. I'm a pretty good cook, which is bad because I love to eat great food. Thus, I’m forced to exercise! However, I actually like that too!
I have a pet cat named Shiloh who was abandoned as a kitten. I saved her when I adopted her from a shelter!
I’m originally from Anderson, South Carolina but spent most of my childhood in Clearwater, Florida and Charlotte, North Carolina.
I moved back "home" to attend Anderson University. After graduating with my Bachelors in Elementary Education I began teaching in Greenville County.
I’m currently working on my Master’s at Southern Wesleyan University and look forward to applying all of the things I’ve learned in the classroom!

I am a certified Language Arts Teacher.
I teach the best students at Riverside High.
I can solve a Rubik’s cube from any position in less than five minutes…without taking it apart or removing stickers.
I will read just about anything (except a phone book or assembly instructions).

I am the resident kindergarten expert!
I am currently teaching kindergarten for some of the greatest students on Earth!
I give 110% - if your child needs help with Reading, Writing or Math, you can rest assured that if I am working with them, I will have individual lesson plans created for them!

CHRISTINA WILSON - Master - ELA - SAT prep, Elem. Ed., beginning reading skills,
I am a highly qualified ELA and elementary education teacher with a master’s degree from Converse College.
I love teaching, however, I took a break from the classroom to stay at home with my son Thomas Wyatt after his arrival in 2005 and now work as a freelance journalist for The Spartanburg Herald-Journal and Greer Herald and as a public relations consultant with my own LLC!
As a tutor, I am able to instill in children my own joy of reading and writing for discovery and learning, personal expression, communication and entertainment.
I have taught both tenth grade English and fifth grade and enjoy watching children of all ages learn! I also love their individuality, enthusiasm and spirit.
Aside from roles as mom, educator and reading enthusiast, I am a motorcycle aficionado. I started riding a 1200 custom Sportster a decade ago and have since owned four different big twin motorcycles, however, I now ride a 2006 Big Dog K9 chopper.

I graduated from Francis Marion University in 2004 with a degree in English and am certified to teach middle through high school.
I have taught 7th grade ELA in Greenville since I graduated in 2004.
I know what assonance is - and no, it is not a bad word!
I believe all students can learn if they put their mind to it.
I have played the guitar for over 10 years and have actually performed in England!
I have read some of the original manuscripts for many historical books including the original Gutenberg Bible, Canterbury Tales, and Beowulf.

I graduated with a major in Chemistry, and know all 6 "flavors" of quarks! (Up, Down, Charm, Strange, Top, and Bottom!)
I have helped students as young as 5th grade and as old as 12th get and maintain A's..
I am a native of Germany, so Ich spreche Deutsch!
